DISCLAIMER: So, I’ve decided to write my thoughts about some of the recent restaurants I’ve visited over the past few months. I’m no food critic nor pretend to be…

What is Pearl Dive Oyster Palace & Black Jack?

Pearl Dive Oyster Palace & Black Jack is a relatively new restaurant (ground floor) and bar (2nd floor) in the Logan Circle neighborhood located at 1612 14th Street NW.

The Inside & Menu
“On the ground floor sits Pearl Dive, a 78-seat restaurant with exposed brick, mermaid murals, and plenty of distressed wood. The setting—and the menu—have the feel of a citified fish shack. Black looked to his Gulf Coast roots for the menu, which gives a nod to the region’s French, Vietnamese, and Spanish populations with such dishes as pickled shrimp with spicy-sweet slaw and olive oil-poached tuna.

There are also Southern classics: wood-grilled redfish and grits, three types of gumbo, and po’boys like the “C.E.B.L.T.,” laden with Benton’s bacon, fried catfish, and a runny egg. Upstairs at Black Jack, there is a burlesque vibe (crimson curtains, red leather banquettes), along with two indoor bocce courts.” (Washingtonian)

Pearl Dive Oyster Palace & Black Jack is a very popular DC eatery which is evident by the crowded venue for happy hour and weekends. The food and service is excellent! One of the biggest attraction to this venue is the awesome Bocce game area in Black Jack. I definitely give this venue 2 thumbs UP! I encourage you to try it and let me know what you think.
